Job Title: Intern (IT)

Location: New York, NY

New Mountain Capital, LLC (“New Mountain”) is seeking to add an intern to its IT team to assist with a variety of Helpdesk tasks. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate who enjoys working in a small team environment, is detail oriented, communicates effectively, thinks out of the box and consistently strives to improve processes. Seeking candidates with full-time availability during the summer and the flexibility to reduce hours as the school year begins.

Job Description:

The Helpdesk provides first-line technical support to end users, assisting with hardware, software, and basic network issues. This role is responsible for troubleshooting problems, resolving service requests, and escalating complex issues as needed to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance. Log and track incidents, update tickets, and escalate as needed.
  • Configure and deploy hardware and provision software for new users.
  • Support end user VOIP phones and iPhone
  • Reset passwords, manage user accounts, and onboard/offboard employees.
  • Provide access permissions for various systems and applications (e.g. Egnyte)
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot user’s hardware and software issues.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems, common software applications, and IT troubleshooting fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with or interest in learning about ticketing systems, user account management, and basic networking.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with a professional and helpful attitude.
  • Ability to follow instructions, document work clearly, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment and handle sensitive information responsibly.
