Prepare for Career Fairs

Use these resources to ensure you know what to expect and are prepared to make the most of the upcoming career fairs.

  • Read the Prep for the Fair Tip Sheet for an overview of what to do during and after the fair
  • Explore the list of participating employers in advance (linked in the Handshake career fair page), determine who you most want to talk to, why, and what questions you want to ask.
  • Practice how you’ll introduce yourself and answer common questions that may come up using this AI video practice tool: Big Interview, Code: 6b7cb8
  • Update your resume and bring printed copies! Get your resume reviewed in advance at ELCS or your College’s career office.  Schedule an appointment in Navigate.
  • Pick out a nice outfit. You don’t need to dress in full professional attire, but employers appreciate when you put some effort into your appearance and dress to make a good impression.
